At KBS Companies, we have a longstanding family history. Our company has been in the Kreofsky family for four generations and counting. Henry Kreofsky started working in construction in the 1920s, where he focused primarily on building roofs for barns across the countryside. As the years went on, his sons joined the business, and it steadily grew to become one of the most respected and well-known companies in the area.

Starting in 1977, the Kreofsky business became Bruce Kreofsky & Sons. As the company continued to grow, so did the number of services we provided. As our services expanded, we quickly went from specializing in general contracting for commercial construction to expanding in the agricultural market, which then moved into the building supplies industry. At that time, we became Kreofsky Building Supplies (KBS), which is a name that encompasses all of our services.

Through the years, more family members have joined the business, and we have grown into a huge workforce that quickly outgrew our Plainview location. We have since doubled in size and expanded into Rochester for a second location, and we service several surrounding cities and states, as well. Following in the footsteps of their great-grandfather, this generation of Kreofskys has continued to expand the family business, all while setting up the future success of the company.

Building Materials

One of the original aspects of our business is to provide the necessary building materials for our customers. We have full-scale lumber yards in both Plainview and Rochester, as well as a comprehensive hardware store that allows us to provide any materials you may need.

We have built relationships over the last four generations with a variety of suppliers, and we use these unique relationships to provide you with the number of materials needed for your project.

Through the years, our family-owned business has been perfecting our construction services.
